Vintage Fair held in Harrington

Wind gusts during annual event

HARRINGTON - Blustery weather was an unwelcome guest at the 6th annual Harrington Vintage Country Fair Saturday, June 15, that featured live music, handmade items, a quilt show, rummage sale and several vendors.

At each cloudburst, the band Sunset Highway continued to play beneath a covered gazebo, while attendees scurried into the Harrington Haus or The Mercantile, leaving the vendors to protect their wares from the wind.

Kim Wilson, one of the event's organizers, estimated attendance was 20% lower than last year because of the weather.

"Everyone is in great spirits and has a wonderful attitude," she said. "Overall, it's been a great day."

Amber Moore, a vendor from Ritzville, attended the fair for the first time and plans to return next year.

"You can't control the weather," she said. "We did fine and made some sales. I will definitely come back."
