Medical emergency causes deputy crash

Deputy otherwise uninjured

DAVENPORT — A Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy suffered a medical emergency that caused him to crash his patrol vehicle into a tree and power junction box Tuesday, June 11.

Deputy Justin Wynecoop underwent the undetermined medical condition that caused him to lose consciousness near Gunning and Ross Streets around 12:13 a.m. June 11. He was transported to Lincoln Hospital by fellow deputy Justin Davis, and the patrol vehicle was towed, police records state.

Wynecoop remains out on leave while undergoing medical evaluation, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed. The Office said he was otherwise uninjured in the crash.
