Grand Coulee celebrates America

Two Rivers hosts fireworks extravaganza

GRAND COULEE — Fireworks, food, music and a laser light show.

There’s no better place to be on the Fourth of July than Grand Coulee Dam during the Festival of America.

The event runs Thursday and Friday evenings at the dam.

Live music Thursday includes Kolton Carson at 3 p.m. , Creature Society at 4 p.m. , Atomic Jive Band at 6 p.m. and TapWater at 8 p.m.

On Friday, Creature Society takes the stage again at 3 p.m., followed by Theresa Edwards Band performs at 6 p.m. and 32 Flavors at 8 p.m.

The bands include Grand Coulee entertainers. Kolton Carson is a Lake Roosevelt High School student and Dylan Green of Coulee Dam leads Creature Society.

Atomic Jive Band, Theresa Edwards Band and 32 Flavors are all from Spokane, while TapWater is out of Portland, Ore.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the Festival of America without an aerial fireworks display launched from the top of Grand Coulee Dam.

Fireworks are at 10:30 p.m. Thursday night, following a 10 p.m. showing of the dam’s laser light show. The laser light show is presented again at 10 p.m. Friday.

But there’s more to music and fireworks at the Festival of America. There are also vendors, food, children’s games and a beer garden available both Thursday and Friday, July 4 and 5.

A professional aerial fireworks display will also take place Saturday, July 6, at the Two Rivers Resort, across from Fort Spokane in Stevens County.

The fireworks are part of the annual resort Fireworks celebration, which runs from 4-11 p.m.

The aerial display will be visible from Fort Spokane, Deer Meadows, Miles and Seven Bays.
