Tribes offer aerial fireworks shows for Independence Day

AIRWAY HEIGHTS – Aerial fireworks displays dominated the skyline over Fort Spokane and Airway Heights during the Independence Day weekend as tribal agencies put on colorful displays.

On Thursday, July 4, thousands of spectators crowded into Airway Heights to see the dazzling display of fireworks.

Rockets whizzed upward into the dark sky, exploding in a sprinkle of various colored lights that floated gracefully back. Families were seen at almost every block, joining in the celebration.

Northern Quest Resort and Casino, in collaboration with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians, stole the show. For the first time ever, they announced an Independence Day drone and fireworks show.

Drones took to the sky, creating breathtaking images of a moving American eagle, a military person saluting and the American flag waving.

The Spokane Tribe offered its own dazzling display Saturday, July 6, at Two Rivers Resort, where aerial fireworks lit up the night sky.
