Sanpoil undergoes hull repairs

WILBUR — Ferry service across the Columbia River is expected to resume this weekend following repairs to the vessel.

The M/V Sanpoil ferry was scheduled to undergo hull repairs from Tuesday, July 16, through Friday, July 19, state Department of Transportation spokesman Ryan Overton said.

The repairs were deemed necessary following the ferry’s 5-year hull inspection by the U.S. Coast Guard last month.

The Sanpoil links state Highway 21 in Lincoln and Ferry counties. It’s on-demand service usually runs from 6 a.m. to midnight daily.
