Odessa FBLA wins two national awards

ODESSA - Odessa High School's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) team brought home two national awards from the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, over the weekend from Saturday, June 29 to Tuesday, July 2 at the FBLA Middle School and High School National Leadership Conference.

According to a press release from Terri King, Odessa High School Business Education and Future Business Leaders of America Adviser, 27 Odessa students participated in the conference and competed in nine different events.

The American Enterprise Project team from Odessa, focusing on the role of agriculture-particularly potatoes-in the American economy, earned top honors.

The Partnership with Business team also secured second place for their collaboration with Odessa Drug, the local pharmacy.

Competing against nearly 100 teams from schools nationwide, the Odessa students demonstrated dedication and preparation, proudly representing their community.

The press release further states that in June, 453 of Washington's business education students traveled to Orlando for the FBLA National Leadership Conference, joining over 15,000 future business leaders from around the globe.

The event brings together only the top 3% of FBLA's 250,000 high school and middle school members.

Beyond the conference, members enjoyed visits to Disney World, Universal Studios, Daytona Beach and an insider tour of the Daytona Speedway.

The Odessa FBLA chapter extends its gratitude to the Odessa School District, the community, and the many volunteers who dedicated their time and expertise to support the students' projects and competitions.
