National Weather Service sees period of sun

DAVENPORT — The National Weather Service predicts a prolonged period of hot and sunny weather for Davenport, Odessa, Reardan, and Harrington.

High temperatures are expected throughout the weekend and into early next week.

Thursday, August 1, will be sunny and hot in Davenport, with a high near 97 degrees.

An east wind of around 6 mph will shift to the southeast in the afternoon. Thursday night will be mostly clear, with a low of around 64 degrees.

Friday, August 2, the hot trend will continue, reaching a high near 104 degrees. The night will be partly cloudy, with a low of around 68 degrees.

On Saturday, August 3, temperatures will remain high, with a partly sunny day and a high near 101 degrees, followed by a mostly cloudy night with a low of around 69 degrees.

Sunday, August 4, will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97 degrees and a mostly clear night with a low around 63 degrees. The hot weather will persist into Monday, August 5, with a high near 98 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, Odessa will experience sunny and hot weather on Thursday, August 1, with a high near 99 degrees.

An east wind of around 6 mph will become south in the afternoon. Thursday night will be mostly clear, with a low of around 65 degrees.

Friday, August 2, temperatures will climb to a high near 106 degrees, with a mostly cloudy night following and a low around 68 degrees.

Saturday, August 3, will be partly sunny and hot, with a high near 102 degrees and a mostly cloudy night with a low around 67 degrees.

Sunday, August 4, will be sunny and hot, with a high near 100 degrees and a mostly clear night with a low of around 64 degrees. The hot weather will continue on Monday, August 5, with a high near 99 degrees.

On Thursday, August 1, Reardan will be sunny, with a high temperature near 94 degrees and a light southeast wind. Thursday night will be mostly clear, with a low of around 63 degrees. Friday, August 2, it will be sunny and hot, with a high temperature near 101 degrees.

The night will be partly cloudy, with a low of around 67 degrees. Saturday, August 3, will be partly sunny and hot, with a high near 99 degrees, followed by a mostly cloudy night with a low around 69 degrees. Sunday, August 4, will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 96 degrees and a mostly clear night with a low around 63 degrees. Monday, August 5, will remain sunny and hot, with a high near 96 degrees.
