Local schools gear up for fall sports

Volleyball and football kick off early

DAVENPORT — As the fall sports season approaches, both Davenport High School and the Reardan-Edwall community are preparing for an exciting start.

Davenport High School will hold its Middle School & High School Fall Sports Athlete/Parent Information Night at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 19 in the high school media center.

New students, families, and incoming 6th graders are invited to arrive at 5:30 p.m.

At this event, parents and athletes will complete sports paperwork using the online system FinalForms, with chromebooks available to assist with the process.

It is advised that sports physicals be completed before the 19th if possible.

Following the paperwork session, high school coaches and some middle school coaches will hold their parent information meetings.

Middle school parents and athletes are encouraged to attend to complete their paperwork, even if their specific sport is not holding a meeting that night.

On August 21, Davenport’s high school football team will begin its first official practice, marking the start of a competitive season.

In Reardan, youth athletes are gearing up for the new season as well.

Registration for Reardan Youth Volleyball is now open for girls in grades 3-6, with the season set to run from early September through October.

The program features twice-weekly practices and Saturday games, providing a great opportunity for young athletes to develop their skills and enjoy the sport.

A registration fee is required and includes a team jersey.

The deadline to sign up is Friday, September 6.
