Deana Lee Bingham Ladwig

1942 - 2024

Deana Ladwig, 82, of Spokane Valley, Wash. passed away on August 3, 2024. She was always prepared and wrote her own obituary as follows:

While attending church service on November 22, 2009 a spiritual thing happened to me…. I was told to write by own obituary.

I was born the second daughter of Thomas and Olga Bingham in Coulee Dam, Wash. My older sister is Jeraldine Bingham (Herm) Caviness of Spokane, Wash. A few years after my dad’s death while serving his country in World War II, my mom married Willis (Bill) Walker and I then had two more sisters; Tana Walker Bonzon and Terri Walker Shea. Both have preceded me in death.

I attended school for all 12 grades in Coulee Dam where I was always active in sports activities, which I loved. I went on to college for a period of time.

I was married and had two beautiful daughters; Pamela Lee Higginbotham Mulcahy (TJ) of Batavia, NY and Jinger Lee Higginbotham Dittmer (John) of Davenport, Wash.

Later I married Rodney Ladwig, my husband of 46 years and added 3 sons to my family. Rodney Ladwig Jr. (Ginnie) of Hardin, MT, Rory Ladwig (Shannon) of Ventura, CA and Reese Ladwig of Colorado Springs, CO. Our 5 children blessed us with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

After retiring from the school system and feeling I was lacking something, I found a new profession as a home care provider which I enjoyed for many years.

Some of my special memories are those of my family and the great love I have for my grandchildren. My short term mission trip with my grandson, Derek and other team members to Guatemala was very special. I am so glad I went.

My faith in Jesus Christ has given me great peace of mind, so please do not cry for me. Celebrate my life as I am happy and with people I love. I know the Lord is my Savior…. I am not alone.

Services will be held at the Wilbur Cemetery for my immediate family. Please no flowers; instead give to your church or a family in need!

A small amount of my ashes will be given to my daughter, Jinger, so that she may sprinkle them from the back of their boat for all the special love, fun and time we had at the lake, which I dearly loved each moment of.

God bless you all and remember me for the happy times! I love you all so very much.
