Terrance W. (Terry) Lust

Passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024 at his home in Davenport, Wash. surrounded by his wife and daughters. Terry was born on April 6, 1955 to Don and Alene Lust in Colfax, Wash. He grew up in Endicott, moved to Ritzville and began first grade, followed by a move to Davenport in fifth grade and then he graduated from Davenport High School in 1973.

Terry was a standout athlete in high school in football, tennis and basketball. During the World Expo of 1974, Terry was hired as a tour guide in the energy pavilion for the worldwide event held in Spokane. He attended WSU for a while and then went to work for Lincoln Electric Co-op (Now Inland Power & Light). While working at Lincoln Electric, he attended the Lineman apprentice school in Spokane, WA where he became a Journeyman Lineman and continued to work there for 40 yrs. Terry was so proud to serve the people of Lincoln County as a lineman.

Terry married the love of his life, Lila Blumenschein on April 12, 1980 in Endicott, Wash. and they made their home in Davenport, Wash. Terry loved his community and was a member of as well as on the council at Zion Lutheran Church, the Davenport Lions Club, NRA, and a very proud member of the IBEW Union.

Terry was active in coaching his girls in sports and helping in many school activities whenever the girls needed their dad. He made and maintained lasting and strong friendships throughout his entire life. Terry enjoyed being at their favorite river spot at Porcupine Bay for boating, skiing, jet skiing, and people watching, as well as going of many family camping trips. During the winter Terry could be found not only snow blowing his sidewalk, but those of neighbors as well as parts of the street that had been missed. Terry's yard was so well manicured he had been told it looked like a putting green and his outdoor Christmas lights were always meticulously displayed. He taught his daughters to play multiple card games by 5 years old with incredible patience. Through hard work and sacrifice, Terry and Lila put all three daughters through 4 year Universities.

Terry's retirement years were enjoyed by visiting grandchildren, traveling as a couple, and casual dinners out with Lila. The true joy of Terry's life was his family. Terry is survived by his wife Lila at their home, three daughters Addie (Blinn) Carstensen, twins Elizabeth (Joe) Waldher and Emily (Kyle) Dixon along with 5 beautiful grandchildren who he spoiled. His brother Jeff (Connie) Lust, sisters Kay (John) Knuth and Suzanne (Eric) Stein along with numerous nieces and nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the oncology teams at Deaconess Medical Center and Valley Medical Center for the great care they gave Terry; specifically Grant Burrell, PA, Dr. Eschelbach, Dr. Hummer, Dr. Gus, Dr. Sulpizio, nurse Haley, and Hospice RNs Rachel and Charlotte. We would also like to thank those friends who stopped by at a moment's notice to help, visit and bring meals, and to Pastor Ty.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1007 Washington St. Davenport, Wash. with Pastor Tyler Gubsch, officiating. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice that reminds you of Terry.
