Deutchesfest Fun Run/Walk on tap

ODESSA — The annual Deutchesfest celebration is expected to draw runners to town Saturday, Sept. 16.

That’s when the annual Deutchesfest Fun Run/Walk is set.

The event begins with registration from 7:45-8:15 a.m. in the town park. The race starts at 8:30 a.m.

Runners will have a choice of distances; a 5K run/walk and a 10K run are planned.

The court has one steep hill about 650 yards long, organizers said. That hill is at the half-mile mark.

Other than that, the course is generally flat, organizers said, noting that only about a quarter-mile is on gravel.

Preregistered runners will receive a T-shirt.

Prizes will be award for first place in both the men’s and women’s divisions of the races.
