MOSES LAKE — The Odessa Tigers girls volleyball team got off to a difficult start to the 2024 season Tuesday, Sept. 10.
The local girls lost 3-1 on the road at Moses Lake Christian Academy.
Makenzie Lutz had 6 kills for Odessa and Jordyn Lewis added 10 assists.
Hadyn Reynolds had 8 digs in the loss.
The Tigers (0-1) were slated to host Valley Christian (1-0) in their home volleyball opener on Thursday night, Sept. 12.
Valley Christian was coming into the game with a 3-0 sweep of Cusick on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
The Record-Times went to press before the start of the Odessa-Valley Christian game.
Next week, the Tigers will be back on the road, traveling to Springdale to take on Mary Walker at 5:30 p.m.
In other volleyball, the Reardan Screaming Eagles opened with a 3-0 loss to Lind-Ritzville/Sprague on Sept. 7. On Sept. 10, the girls traveled to Newport, where they swept the Grizzlies, 3-0.
Meanwhile, the Davenport Gorilla girls remained undefeated. They opened with a 3-0 win over Liberty on Sept. 10.
