Tricycle racing opens Deutchesfest

ODESSA - The annual Deutchesfest celebration got underway Thursday night with tricycle and bed racing.

As the bright sun slowly set on the west end of Division Street, it was 3-year-old Connor Douglas of Odessa by a block, the first tricycle racer to win a heat. Douglas was crowned ages 2-3 champion. Neave Nelson, 2, of Odessa was a distant second.

In the ages 4-5 division, Cole Sebesta, 5, of Odessa, took the title honors as the first racer to reach the East First Avenue finish line in front of the Lincoln County Record-Times office. Young racer Brayden Stanford, 4, also of Odessa came in second, followed by Drayson Short, 4, of Odessa.

Maverich Rosman was the ages 6-7 champion and Harley Ryan won the ages 8-10 division.
