Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
DAVENPORT - It's Homecoming week in northeast Lincoln County.
Local football teams return home this week for "the big game" and kings and queens will be crowned during halftime festivities on Friday evening.
The games are among the culminating events for a week of school spirit fun.
But the games aren't going to be easy wins.
In Davenport, the Gorillas (0-5) will host the Liberty (Spangle) Lancers (2-4). The Northeast 2B league rivals squared off two weeks ago in Spangle, and the Lancers came away with an 18-0 win.
In Reardan, the Screaming Eagles will face their toughest foe of the season, so far, for homecoming. Reardan (2-4) hosts No. 7-ranked Freeman. The Crusaders (5-1) only loss this season, so far, is to No. 5-ranked Freeman.
Last week, the Screaming Eagles lost 57-13 on the road at No. 2-ranked Asotin.
Odessa
While students and residents will have to wait a week for Homecoming in Odessa, the Tigers won't have an easy path to victory this Friday either. The undefeated Odessa boys football team is headed to Wilbur to take on Wilbur-Creston.
Wilbur-Creston (6-0) is ranked No. 2 in Class 1B (8-man football), but the Tigers (5-0) aren't far behind, having received ranking votes this season.
The Wildcats are coming off a 68-30 win over Cusick last week. Meanwhile, the Tigers are coming off a 36-34 win over Curlew.
Friday's games in Davenport, Reardan and Wilbur are set for 7 p.m.
