Oregonians burglarize cell tower site
Three men were booked into the Lincoln County Jail in Davenport in connection with the burglary of a cell phone tower building near Sprague.
Jail records show Jason John Trickel, 44, Justin Curtis Himes, 48, and Joshua M. True, 44, all of Oregon, were arrested Tuesday, Oct. 22. Trickel and Himes are being held in the Lincoln County Jail on a burglary charge and True is in custody for second-degree burglary.
The men’s ages and hometowns were not immediately available. At press time, they were being held without bail.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, a Sprague area resident reported a suspicious vehicle near his property and then later spotted it at a cellphone tower site.
A deputy arriving on scene found the vehicle and noted the tower site building appeared to have broken into, according to the Sheriff’s Office report. The deputy heard voices inside and ordered the men to come out.
One person was arrested without incident, records how. But two other fled on foot.
The Sheriff’s Office report didn’t identify which suspects fled the deputy.
Helicopter and K-9 support were requested from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, records show. The agency responded with two K-9s, a helicopter and Washington State Patrol support.
Area residents also joined in the search for the suspects, records show, noting they were both apprehended.
“We are happy to report that all three men are now in custody at the Lincoln County Jail on burglary charges,” a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office said. “We’d like to thank our neighbors at Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and WSP for their assistance in helping us locate and arrest these three subjects.
“We’d also like to thank all of the citizens who assisted the staff at LCSO to ensure this was a safe and successful outcome. We wouldn’t do what we do without the support you constantly give to us.”
