Caller threatens to bomb hospital

Medical facility locked down in Davenport

DAVENPORT — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Oct. 31 bomb threat that prompted the lock down of medical facilities in Davenport and Reardan.

According to law enforcement records, at about 2:37 p.m. Oct. 31, an employee at Lincoln County Hospital received a forwarded call in which the caller said a bomb had been planted at Reardan Clinic.

The employee reported a man’s voice saying “that bomb will go off soon,” records show.

The call was made to the Reardan Clinic, 550 E. Broadway Ave., Reardan, then forwarded to Lincoln Hospital and Clinics, 10 Nicholls St., Davenport.

Deputies were dispatched to both locations, records show. Meanwhile, the hospital went into lock-down mode.

While deputies were en route, the hospital’s security company called to advise a panic alarm had been activated at the hospital.

Deputies arriving at Reardan Clinic walked the area, but didn’t find anything records show.

Meanwhile, law enforcement officers also reached out to the hospitals in Colfax, Spokane and Odessa to see if they had received threats. Officials at those hospitals denied receiving any threats.

Deputies also contacted Fairchild Air Foce Base to request a bomb-sniffing K9 unit be available on standby, records show.

The bomb threat remained under investigation at press time.
