CHENEY — Democrat Bob Ferguson is headed to the governor’s mansion.
Early results in the Tuesday, Nov. 5, general election show Ferguson with a sizeable lead — nearly 400,000 votes — over Republican Dave Reichert in their bids to replace Gov. Jay Inslee.
As of press time, Ferguson had 56.13% of the vote; Reichert had 43.68%.
The race was closer in Eastern Washington, with Reichert leading across all of Eastern Washigton:
Lincoln County: Reichert has 76.26% (3,961 votes), while Ferguson holds 23.41% (1,216 votes).
Whitman County: Reichert leads slightly with 51.01% (5,889 votes) to Ferguson’s 48.83% (5,638 votes).
Adams County: Reichert has 76.15% (2,158 votes), while Ferguson has 23.78% (674 votes).
Spokane County: Reichert is ahead with 53.9% (112,156 votes), while Ferguson has 45.9% (95,373 votes).
