DAVENPORT - Lincoln County voters turned out en masse Tuesday, Nov. 5, to support former President Donald Trump in his re-election bid.
At the end of the initial tally on election night, Trump had received the support of 73.63% of Lincoln County voters.
The Trump turnout was the highest of any county in the state.
Nearby, Adams County was a close second, with 73.42% of voters backing the former president. Spokane County gave Trump the nod with 50.53%. Voters in Grant and Ferry Counties backed Trump with 68.3% and 65.46%, respectively.
In all, Trump won 25 of the state's 39 counties.
Amid a sea of red, only Whitman County turned out for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Due to the influence of Washington State University students and faculty, Harris got a tepid nod to be president, edging former President Donald J. Trump by a mere 400 votes.
At the end of counting Tuesday night, Harris received 5,748 votes in Whitman County; Trump received 5,343.
Late-arriving ballots are still being counted.
Statewide, she received, 1,694,782 votes and Trump had receive 1,130,757 votes. A large part of the difference in the total came from King County, where Harris had nearly a 450,000-vote lead at press time.
