Two local runners medal at state

Branstetter, Soliday finish sixth

PASCO - A pair Lincoln County runners finished sixth in the Class 2B state cross country race Saturday, Nov. 9, in the respective events at Sun Willows Golf Course.

Reardan senior Gabe Branstetter finished the 5,000-meter course with a time of 16:42.80 en route to a medal.

And Davenport freshman Charlotte Soliday won her medal with a time of 19:50.10 on the 5,000-meter course that weaved over the links, around trees and through the golf course community.

Aside from the two medalists, several other Lincoln County runners competed in the state meet.

From Davenport, senior Tommy Furman finished 12th in the boys race with a time of 17:11.10. Junior teammate Kyler Davenport finished 53rd for the Gorillas with a time of 1:19.30.

Another Gorilla, junior Josie Wynecoop, finished 15th in the girls race with a time of 20:12.20.

Reardan senior Jakari Singleton finished 18th in the boys race with a time 17:24.10.
