Presented with prestigious Melvin Jones Award
DAVENPORT - Bob Guhlke was presented with the Lions Club International's esteemed Melvin Jones Award by Davenport Lions Club President Jonn Chapman.
The award, named after the organization's founder, recognizes outstanding community participation and service.
Guhlke, a longtime member and current board of directors member, was selected for the honor by his fellow club members in recognition of his dedication to the community.
Among his many contributions, Guhlke is best known for his role as chairman of the Kids Fishing Derby during Pioneer Days, an event he initiated even before joining the Lions Club.
"Bob's tireless efforts and commitment to both the community and the club have made a significant impact," said Chapman during the presentation.
In addition to his work with the fishing derby, Guhlke has played an integral role in numerous Lions Club initiatives, embodying the organization's service mission.
