Camper reports being shot at

FISHTRAP — The Bureau of Land Management reviewed reports of someone shooting at a camper near Lake Valley Loop Road north of Sprague.

According to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office report, the camper called dispatch Nov. 29 to report “people are shooting at him and his camper.”

Records show he reported that a bullet had pierced his camper.

“Reporting person did state that he is camping right by the train tracks,” a report said, noting there is a shooting range “right down the road.”

The camper spoke with a BLM agent, who said there is no reason shots at the gun range would come near his campsite, records show.

The camper told law enforcement he was packing up and going somewhere else.
