Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

December 8
Traffic Stops: 5
The LCSO received an anonymous letter at 1:06 a.m. at the door to Wilbur PD. The letter stated that the writer has lived in Wilbur for some time and noticed the black truck driven by the head of public works “likes to put his foot into it” when driving through city streets. The writer says they see deputies positioned on highway 2 and advised that they can watch it happen if they park near the fire station by city hall. The writer further stated that they would not provide their name because they did not want to be harassed and continued to say the driver would hurt someone.
At 4:01 p.m., the LCSO received a phone call from an unidentified woman refusing to identify herself until deputies could guess her name. Deputies reportedly asked several times if the woman needed help, but she did not elaborate until they “played her game.”
An unknown claimant contacted the LCSO requesting for an ambulance at her residence at the Rural Resources Housing to check her blood pressure because she thinks it is high due to ongoing harassment from a group of people. She claimed that a male who is a member of a “famous people cult” keeps calling her.
December 9

LCSO was advised that someone stole 1,555 gallons of clear diesel from the dispenser over the weekend. The callers told deputies that he believed they could have done it in about an hour if someone had used the big nozzle. He reported that the gas was $3.84 a gallon, and his cost is $5,983.33.

A woman contacted LCSO to report that someone had been taking picture and videos of her while she is in her bedroom. She advised that she has video evidence of it happening and noted it happened multiple times.

A woman reported that her ex messeged a 3rd party individual with a threat to call her.

Traffic Stops: 4
LCSO received a call at 1:39 p.m. from a man reporting that his wife’s ex-husband want to serve them with papers. He reported that the ex-husband “is like 6 foot 3 inches and is kind of intimidating.” The man was unsure if the ex-husband is allowed to serve them papers and advised that the papers go against the parenting plan that is in place.
LCSO received a report of a dark-colored tool box on the side of Mcabee Cemetary Road, approximately ½ a mile of highway 23.
An unidentified claimant called to report that a violation of a protection order occurred at the school the caller’s daughter attends. The woman told deputies that the child’s father violated the order on purpose and believed it was the school’s fault.
A woman called LCSO thinking her stolen motorhome is in Reardan. Deputies report that a vehicle matching the description was in front of the Dot building in Spgraue. Dispatch called Washington State Patrol and informed them of the situation. A unit was sent from Ritzville to confirm the plate and see if the motorhome was still there.
A woman called LCSO reporting that her husband had too much to drink and had gotten a board or 2x4. Deputies report that the woman started to get very animated in her voice and crying. According to reports, a call was made to the area units to head to the address for a possible DV situation immediately. Once the woman was calmed down on the phone she explained that her husband had been to Spokane, came home and began drinking. After a few drinks, he got up and passed out onto the couch and appeared to be choking. She then stated everything is fine her husband has regained consciousness and everything is fine. She went on and stated no ambulance was needed and that she was safe and did not need deputies or medical.
A woman called to report her brother tried to assault her and had chased her through the woods, beat her, and pushed her into a barbed wire fence.

An unidentified person called to report that she believed someone was around her trailer intentionally messing with her. She could not provide identification for the person or vehicle.
A man called to report that his granddaughter saw an offensive political sign and now the granddaughter is asking what the explicit word on the sign means and what it is. The man stated that stuff like that should not be in front of childrens eyes. After a conversation with a deputy that lasted 7 minutes, the deputy reported that the man talked about crips and bloods and how he would like to see cops go away since he is an ex-convict. He was also concerned that schools are turning boys into girls and how bad Donald Trump treats women. He claimed he would also legally pickit with lots of guys.
A man called to report that Lieutenant Jackson with the Sheriff’s Office called him, advising him he had missed jury duty and would have to pay a $700 fine in cash or card. He left a phone number. According to the man, the same phone number called multiple times and the LCSO advised him that it was most likely a scam.
A man called to report that his neighbor’s dog came onto his property around 11 a.m. and chased his cows through his fence. The man reported that the dog ran into another neighbor’s house and chased their cows.

A man called and advised that he locked himself out of his car and he needed help getting it unlocked. The car was located on the west side of Safeway, where all the big trucks parked.
