Trial date set for April 9 in voyeurism case

Anderson to be tried in Superior Court

DAVENPORT — A local man accused of first-degree voyeurism will face trial in Lincoln County Superior Court on Wednesday, April 9.

Austin Andrew Anderson, 24, of Davenport, appeared before the court as a readiness hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, March 18.

The trial date was set following delays requested by his defense attorney, citing ongoing case preparations.

“For an emergency situation, we would wait until May 9 of next year,” Anderson’s defense attorney said during the hearing.

Anderson faces allegations stemming from a July 24 incident when his then-girlfriend, 19, reported to deputies that he had recorded her without her permission while she was using the restroom and engaging in sexual activity, court records show.

A search warrant issued July 25 allowed deputies to seize Anderson’s phone, which was sent to the Washington State Patrol crime lab for forensic analysis, court records show.

Evidence of recordings was recovered, and the case was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, records show.

Prosecutors allege Anderson recorded the videos without consent for his own sexual gratification, violating the victim’s expectation of privacy.
