December 22
Traffic Stops: 7
A woman called at 12:34 p.m. to report that she got a phone call that kids were breaking up the concrete in front of 11 North East Cole.
Dispatch received a call at 3:37 p.m. advising that while driving by the Waukon Grange earlier in the day, it looked like the front door was open and suggested that it looked like someone possibly broke part of the frame.
At 3:46 p.m., a woman called to report that a tan Ford pickup was stuck and off the road.
December 23
Traffic Stops: 8
At 3:23 a.m. a woman called reporting that she heard through a third party that her ex was looking for her and if he found her, he would shoot up the house. She advised that he lives in Bellingham and does not know where she lives.
A woman received a phone call from deputies after her neighbor called the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 9:35 a.m. to report that a vehicle parked in a driveway across from her house for a couple of hours and stated it was odd because the front windows were down. Deputies called the owner of the vehicle, and she informed them that she had parked her car there after she was picked up by a friend to go to Spokane.
At 9:56 a.m., a man called to report that a child who looked to be about 7 or 8 years old was sitting at the back door of his house, wrapped in a blanket, shouting for his mom and dad. Deputies responded and met with the boy’s older sister, and she informed deputies that her little brother went outside on the front porch and could not open the door, so she let him back inside. The parents were out Christmas shopping, and she was babysitting.
December 24
Traffic Stops: 10
At 4:28 p.m. Matchett Towing advised they were en route to State Route 2 around Milepost 212 or 213 to “yank someone out of the ditch.” The driver had pulled over to use their phone and got stuck in the mud.
December 25
Traffic Stops: 3
At 12:24 a.m., dispatch received a call from someone asking to see if someone could check on a UPS driver who got stuck on Western Pines Road. The caller advised that Evergreen Towing was down and trying to help get the truck out. They were in contact with the driver until the system went down. There was no cell service in the area. They sent another man in a silver Chevy pickup truck to get the driver but had not heard from him. Later, at 12:45 a.m., the caller advised dispatch that the UPS driver was back on route, but the other driver reportedly “got himself lost” and was working on getting out.
At 8:54 p.m., a woman called to report that a black and white dog had been found, and she wanted a deputy to come with the chip reader to find out who owned it.
December 26

At 5:57 p.m. a man called to report that there was a dead deer in the roadway.
December 27
Traffic Stops: 9
A man called to report that a deer was injured on the road. The caller requested a deputy to dispatch the animal or approve them to put it down.
At 4:52 p.m., dispatch received a call informing that there was a fire between the gravel pit and Johns Rocky. The property owner was contacted and advised by dispatch that she was aware of the fire and that it was contained.
At 6:01 p.m., a woman called, reporting that her son is upset and throwing stuff at her while thrashing around the house. The woman told dispatch she was holding a knife to protect herself.
A man called to report that he was worried for his safety, claiming that some of his friends started earlier in the day that they wanted to kill him and stop him from breathing. The man said this started due to the fact his friend wanted his girlfriend to stay home and not be out and about with him due to her being intoxicated. The man called looking for advice on trespassing his friends from his property.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 8:11 p.m. that a vehicle is circling the block nearby. No car was found with the provided vehicle description.
December 28
Traffic Stops: 15
At 11:45 a.m., a woman called to report that a black and white husky was heading towards Main Street. She advised that the dog had a collar on it.
Shots were heard and reported to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 1:21 p.m. Gunshots were heard coming from a nearby residence, and the caller, a prior deputy, said she knew the difference between guns and fireworks. She reportedly heard 20 shots come from the house and is now taking cover in her home. She said it sounded like “rapid fire,” and they were staying in the house. She further said that she is armed as well for protection.

Traffic Stops: 1
A woman called at 3:14 p.m. advising that her neighbor had been gone since Christmas and his door was open. She wanted a deputy to take a look.
A woman called at 6:22 p.m., reporting that her neighbor in another apartment is making a lot of noise.
