Pedestrian killed by car near Fairchild

Isaacson pronounced dead at scene

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE — An elderly pedestrian on U.S. Highway 2 near the entrance of Fairchild Air Force Base was struck and killed by a car Dec. 28.

Roberta L. Isaacson, 75, of Medical Lake, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the fatal incident occurred at the intersection of South Dover Road and U.S. Highway 2, just west of the base entrance at about 6:41 p.m.

Isaacson entered the roadway, where she was struck by a 2004 Buick Century, driven by William L. Collins, 68, of Medical Lake.

Neither alcohol nor drugs was a factor, the patrol said, listing the cause as pedestrian in roadway.

Collins, who was wearing a seatbelt, was uninjured, the patrol said.

His vehicle sustained damage and was removed from the scene by Williams Towing and Recovery-North, the patrol reported.
