Area girls wrestle in Deer Park

DEER PARK - Davenport and Reardan girls wrestled Jan. 7 at a mix-and-match at Deer Park High School.

Davenport girls finished 15th overall as a team with 30 points; Reardan finished 18th with 22.0.

Cheney won the event with 103.5 team points, followed by Lewis and Clark with 96.5 and Republic in third with 66.5. Wilbur-Creston rounded out the Top 4 teams with 57.0 points.

Davenport

120B - Gracelynn Woosley was pinned by Jeanne Coloma of Colville in 1:08 and lost a 10-4 decision to Nala Fernandes of Gonzaga Prep. In ther third match, she pinned Joi Walker of Ferris in 1:08 and then won a 16-6 major decision over Justyne Sorensen of Cheney.

130D - Alexis Ward pinned Joslynn Ruddell of Cheney in 2:08 and then Laralyn Akins of Cheney in 3:21. In her final bout, she was pinned by Addison Stigall of Newport in 2:12.

135B - Mya Harden was pinned in her opener in 3:43 by Karis Butller of Almira/Coulee-Hartline. She won her second bout by medical forfeit over Maple Bellamy-Hughes of East Valley and then was pinned by Lezah Kennard of Ferris in 3:35.

145A - Emma Cash opened with a loss by fall to Lilly Graves of West Valley in 2:14. She was then pinned by Kathryn Ambute-Gibson of Lewis and Clark in 1:02. In her final match, she was a 12-5 decision over Madelynn Bowlby of Colville.

Reardan

155B - Myleigh Benham lost her opener by pin in 3:00 to Brooklyn Cooper of Deer Park. She then won an 8-4 decision over Sylvia Pimley of Lewis and Clark and then was pinned by Kaylee Phipps of East Valley in 2:21.

170A - Danika Bretz pinned her three opponents, Kendle McGovern of Kettle Falls in 56 seconds, Kali Betanzos of Cheney in 21 seconds and Madelynn Fox of Ferris in 1:41.

Wilbur-Creston

125A - Lillian Monaghan defeated three opponents, edging Kaitlynn Moore of Cheney in 9-7, Delaney Casey of Gonzaga Prep by pin in 2:26 and then Savannah Garris of Newportby pin in 1:12.

125B -Skyla Jensen pinned three opponents, including Riley Kelley of Liberty (Spangle) in 2:37, Eva Huerta of Mary Walker in 17 seconds and then Izoduware Idumwonyi of Lewis and Clark in 1:20.

125C - Hailey Harvey won her opener by techfall, 19-2 in 2:55, over Cavalera Garegnani of Lewis and Clark. She then won by medical forfeit over Gabrielle Warnock of Shadle Park, before being pinned by Sara Loveland of Lewis and Clark in 1:20.

130A - Heather Wyborney pinned Evelyn Scott of Deer Park in 3:00 and Johanna McCurdy of West Valley in 1:20. She won her last match by technical fall, 18-1 in 1:26, over Ariana Smith of Ferris.

145C - SunRae Monaghan pinned Piper Peterson of Cheney in 4:29 and then JoJo Thomas of Liberty in 1:01. In her final bout, she lost by tech fall, 20-4 in 3:25, to Annalisa Bouge of Republic.
