Harrington High School basketball team defeated the Odessa team in a recent match at community hall. The game was fast and intense from start to finish. After the neck and neck contest the final score was Harrington 34 to Odessa 30.
The price of wheat at the local markets has gone up nine cents in the last week. Early Baart and Bluestem are selling for $2.05. There is considerable wheat in storage locally but those farmers are holding out for higher prices.

E.M. Reisenauer and sons who operate the Crab Creek Dairy announced that they are starting a milk delivery route in Odessa. It is planned to start by the first of next month.
Ed Reese was high bidder for the 240 acre farm in the Henry Kimball estate. Five sealed bids were submitted and Reese’s $38,455 bid won by $11 over the nearest bidder. These are the highest prices paid for land in the Reardan area.

Lunch customers at the Challenger Café in Harrington were treated to lunch by candlelight when the power went out. The power failure forced employees to cook on the gas stove by flashlight and when the coffee ran out instant coffee was served.
Tami McGuire was named Miss Davenport at a recent Chamber of Commerce banquet. Her court consists of Princesses Jeanne Stone, Jene Stubbs and Donna Linstrum. McGuire is the 21st Miss Davenport.
A delegation of 15 Odessa citizens met with the town council recently, vehemently expressing their objections to the use of a quonset adjacent to Finney field for fertilizer storage. The matter will be looked into by the council.

Over 100 people attended the recent Davenport Chamber of Commerce Banquet. Marciel Morse was reinstalled as President and Sue Parks as Vice-President. Dinner was served by the Celebrate Davenport committee.
Odessa students surpass state average on Writing WASL tests. The 4th grade class had 41.7% pass compared to state average of 32.6%, the 7th grade passed 52% well above the state average of 37% and the 10th grade had 75% pass over state average of 41%.

Construction is underway of Phase 1 of what will become the Inland Northwest Rail Museum. The 30 acre site is just west of Reardan. A turntable was donated by union Pacific Railroad.
An X the TXT event was held during halftime of the Davenport boys basketball game. The campaign to create awareness about the dangers of texting and driving raised $2,931 to donate to the Booster club.
The City of Odessa is facing a budget deficit of approximately $15,000. Some of this is due to the lack of liquor tax revenue that has dropped significantly since the state no longer runs the liquor sales.
