DAVENPORT — With Valentine’s Day approaching, local communities are offering a variety of events and specials to celebrate the holiday, from themed dinners to craft activities for kids and social gatherings for seniors.

Reardan will host several events, including a Western Valentine’s Party at Teen Pie from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15.

This event, open to middle and high school teens and their families, will feature line dancing, Valentine’s card making, bouquet crafting, an indoor snowball fight, jewelry making, and more. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

For those looking for a dining experience, Speed Trap Tap House will offer a Valentine’s special featuring ribeye, shrimp, and potato salad.

Seniors can enjoy a special Valentine’s Young at Heart social and lunch on Friday, Feb. 14. Lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m., with doors open from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Guests aged 55 and older are invited to enjoy an Asian chicken and rice meal with vegetables and fortune cookies, followed by Valentine’s-themed games, including charades.

The meal is free, though donations are accepted. Those needing transportation can call 509-796-2141 for assistance.

Harrington will host a Valentine’s Day Party at the Harrington Public Library on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., featuring crafts and games for children.

In addition, Home & Makers will offer discounted items on select store merchandise for the holiday.

Odessa’s Wild Roost will have Valentine’s Day floral packages available, paired with specialty drinks.

Davenport will offer several dining options for those looking to celebrate. Tribune Provisions will feature a special Valentine’s dinner menu, requiring reservations in advance via email, Facebook message, or phone. Marking “Going” on social media does not confirm a reservation. The menu will include a selection of appetizers, entrées, and desserts.

6th Street Pizza will be open all weekend from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature a special breakfast pizza for Valentine’s Day.

The pizza, topped with eggs, bacon, breakfast sausage, Alfredo sauce, and cheese, will be listed on the restaurant’s chalkboard menu.

Additionally, lunch specials featuring pepperoni and cheese pizza slices will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Various local businesses and restaurants are offering sales and promotions for Valentine’s Day, though not all had responded by press time.
