Karl Kim Harrison passed away Jan. 20, 2025. Karl was born to David and Norma Harrison on March 6, 1956.
Karl spent his early grade school through freshman years at Davenport, Wash. There he participated in wrestling, football, baseball and cross country. In wrestling he held a record for many years of having the fastest pin.
In Davenport, he was a member of the Presbyterian Church and attended Sunday school regularly. He had a paper route and delivered the Spokesman Review on his bicycle. He saved up enough to buy a go-cart and was the envy of many.
Karl spent his junior and senior years at Heppner (OR) High School. He excelled in football, baseball and track. He was a member of the 4x100 relay team of 1974 that brought home a state championship and set a school record of 44.9 seconds. The record was measured in yards rather than meters, and it remains unbroken after 50 years.
Karl received a scholarship in football to Eastern Oregon University where he played split end.
In adulthood, Karl managed several different furniture and jewelry stores. He was also the regional manager at the U-Haul company in Portland, OR for many years.
Karl was married to Jamie Jamara, but the marriage ended in divorce.
Karl had an infectious smile and a good sense of humor. He was a very humble person and never cared much about worldly possessions. He was happiest when watching his favorite football teams, the Seahawks, Ducks, Cougars, and Packers. He enjoyed 70's music, karaoke, his cats, all sports, cooking, and his many friends.
One of his good friends and roommate, Gib Tuttle, was Karl's caregiver throughout his struggle with cancer, The Harrison family is most grateful for the care given to Karl in his time of need.
Karl was proceeded in death by his sister, Laurie Bowman, and is survived by his parents David and Norma Harrison, sister Susan Thompson (Scott), sister Kelly Boyer (John), nieces Brooke Boyer Kates, Megan Deffe' (Shaun), Molly Hughs (Doug). Nephews Matt Gaffney, Zach Lust, Tyler Boyer (Lindsey) and Christian Bowman, 3 great-nephews Cole and Bridger Kates and Bridger Boyer as well as many relatives and friends.
