Boots & Beauties dance draws crowd

Fourth annual daddy-daughter dance

HARRINGTON — Young girls and their fathers had a night to remember with cowboy boots, gorgeous dresses, and mouth watering food.

The dance floor was packed at the annual Boots & Beauties Daddy-Daughter Dance as it celebrated its fourth year on Saturday, Feb. 22. Crowds of families gathered for an evening of fun and fundraising.

Carolyn Mattozzi, one of the event organizers, said the dance first began after the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly became a community favorite.

“We started right after COVID. It’s our fourth year,” Mattozzi said. “We had a huge crowd because it was the first event since COVID. The kids look forward to it.”

This year’s dance featured a country-inspired “Boots & Beauties” theme, joining past themes such as Candy Land and Butterfly Kisses.

Organizers pre-sold 30 tickets, but many more were purchased at the door as families arrived for the event.

Attendees enjoyed a meal that included pulled pork, chicken patties for children, baked macaroni and cheese, salad and cake pops for dessert.

Funds raised from the event support local projects, including school play equipment, stage curtains and scholarships for high school seniors.

“We do a lot of scholarships for a senior or seniors and other things if they need help with it,” Mattozzi said.
