The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Feb. 17
Traffic Stops: 7
2:59 p.m. – A Davenport Safeway employee called to report 3 juveniles for theft. The store doesn’t want to press theft charges but wants the juveniles trespassed from the store.
3:50 p.m. – A resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to make a report about being attacked by a small white dog while walking on 11th St.
4:02 p.m.- A resident called to ask for a status of a motor home that has been parked near the elevators on Waukon Rd. The owner is attempting to have the vehicle towed.
5:05 p.m. – A woman called to report one of her classmates walking on Sunset Highway in shorts and sandals and she is concerned for him. The responding deputy was unable to locate anyone.
6:19 p.m. – Harassment over a missing cat was reported.
9:43 p.m. – A woman called to ask for an ambulance due to having fallen in the shower hours ago. The ambulance arrived and helped the woman up off the floor.

1:21 p.m. – A vehicle on the side of the road was reported as suspicious. Responding deputy was advised they were out of fuel and had already been in contact with the WSP.
1:55 p.m. – A woman called about a box she didn’t order that had arrived at her house. She said a gentleman called her about it but could not provide any verification. The gentleman was a census worker and the box was a Census packet.
2:31 p.m. – A property dispute was reported. Deputy advised it was a civil matter.
6:19 p.m. – A motorist called to report a couch in the middle of the roadway on SR 25 in front of the Apostolic church.
6:29 p.m. – A caller reported someone had placed white crosses with red liquid poured on them in the snow next to the road.

8:20 a.m. – An alarm company called to report an alarm going off at Davenport Exxon Station. Attempted to call, no answer. No signs of forced entry.
10:16 a.m. – A property dispute was reported.
6:00 p.m. – A man called to report he thinks his father is being scammed after receiving phone calls saying he has won a vehicle.

1:39 p.m. – A fifth wheel trailer full of trash was abandoned near the grange hall on Waukon Rd.
9:01 p.m. – An Odessa caller reported his neighbor is playing music too loud.

12:22 p.m. – A woman contacted deputies to report that she was being threatened by someone who she recently defeated in court. She was advised to obtain a restraining order.

1:27 a.m. – A woman called to report she saw 2 to 3 people creeping around outside her home.
9:18 a.m. – A dispute arose during a custody exchange at the Sheriff’s office because the receiving parent didn’t have an umbrella.

1:28 p.m. – A resident called to report 3 dogs on her property chasing her chickens. All chickens are accounted for except one. This is the second time these same dogs have been on her property and chased her chickens.
5:04 p.m. – A passing motorist called to report seeing fire and sparks at the Rocklyn substation. Responding units were unable to locate any fire or sparks.
5:13 p.m. – A resident called to report that a German Shepard and a Saint Bernard were on his property and killed his sheep. He doesn’t know who the dogs belong to and will post a picture on social media in an attempt to locate the owners.
7:20 p.m. – A man called to report that his girlfriend left after a fight a couple of days ago and she is on her way home even though he doesn’t want her there.
8:27 p.m. – A motorist called to report a possible DUI. The vehicle was located in Davenport and the driver stated he was having trouble seeing in the fog and did not appear intoxicated.
