Screaming Eagles best Bulldogs

SPOKANE VALLEY — The top-ranked Reardan Screaming Eagles beat the No. 2-seeded Colfax Bulldogs, 64-54, in a 2B District 6 semifinal matchup on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at West Valley High School.

The Screaming Eagles went on to take second place at the tournament, falling to another No. 1 seed, the Freeman Scotties, 66-58, in the championship game but still punched their ticket to the State tournament.

Against Colfax, Reardan came out on fire, taking a 20-12 lead in the first quarter and held a 29-27 advantage at halftime. The Bulldogs bit back in the third quarter, briefly taking a small lead, but the Screaming Eagles regained the advantage and led, 45-36, at the end of the third quarter.

With Reardan adding 19 points in the fourth and holding Colfax to 16, the Screaming Eagles won the game.

Senior Rysen Soliday led the Screaming Eagles with 22 points on eight field goals, two of them 3-pointers, and sinking a perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line. Fellow senior Jakari Singleton added 19 points on eight field goals and hitting 3-for-6 from the charity stripe.
