Palouse woman's trial set for June

Another continuance requested

HARRINGTON — A Palouse woman charged with vehicular homicide in a crash that killed three Davenport men will stand trial on Tuesday, June 11, with a readiness hearing scheduled for May 20.

Jade A. Ellsworth, 30, is facing a single count of vehicular homicide in connection with the June 7, 2024, crash that claimed the lives of Alan Kysar, 26, Braedon Efraimson, 26, and Blake Wilson, 24.

Despite three fatalities, Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney Ty Albertson said the decision to file only one count was made in accordance with the wishes of the victims’ families.

“We elected to charge it as one count for the three victims based on the family’s wishes,” Albertson said. “There are a lot of things going on with the case, and we are driven on victim input. We are taking into account a lot of their wishes on this case. Part of it was charging it as one count. We are going off what the family wants to do.”

Ellsworth, who is not currently in custody, is accused of failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Harrington-Tokio Road and Mohler Road, crashing into a 2002 Honda Civic carrying the three victims.

She told law enforcement she was traveling about 65 mph and did not see the stop sign due to the sun’s glare.

The posted speed limit in the area is 50 mph.

Court records indicate that Ellsworth did not have a valid driver’s license at the time of the crash.

Authorities determined neither drugs nor alcohol were factors, and all involved were wearing seat belts.
