Sealed bids for a fire siren will be received by the town of Odessa, until April 20th 1925. Bids should be addressed to the Town Clerk.
A lecture on the Klu Klux Klan was delivered a the Blue Mouse Hall by by Judge Jeffrey of that organization. Approximately 60 people attended.

The dedication of The Veteran’s Memorial hospital had most of the town of Odessa shut down to participate. The hospital will be open for use in ten days, following the arrival of some equipment.

The new Fidelity Mutual Saving Bank held its grand opening. The ceremony was attended by Davenport Mayor Joe Darling, Miss Davenport Tami McGuire and her court as well as the new manager of the bank John Dupree.
Heidi Sewall was chosen as Miss Harrington and her Cousin Kelly Sewall will be one of two princesses the other being Diane Kuwahara. The Miss Congeniality award was a tie between the cousins.

Odessa Memorial hospital celebrated its 50th anniversary. The hospital first opened in 1950 has been a center of healthcare for the community since. The construction cost of the original building was $120,000.
WSP Trooper Jim Hays’ car was stolen during a traffic stop. The suspect crawled through the small window between the front and back seats of the patrol car and took off in the vehicle. A MedStar helicopter in the area located the car and the suspected was arrested.

Davenport Baseball opened its varsity season with a slugfest at Reardan. Final scores for the double header were 19-0 and 25-1. High scorers for the Gorillas were Tom Wilkie with 7 runs for the day followed by Cruz Plasencia with 6 and Jasper White with 5.
The USDA has released data from its 2012 Census of Agriculture. 97% of the 2.1 million farms in the U.S. are family farms. Family being defined as individuals related by blood, marriage or adoption. Thank goodness they defined that for us.
