Spokane man arraigned for vehicle theft

Trial set for June 25 in year-old case

DAVENPORT - A Spokane man accused of stealing a vehicle in Lincoln County pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Tuesday, April 1, in Lincoln County Superior Court.

Scott Skenandore-Kieffer, 36, is charged with theft of a motor vehicle in connection to an incident reported April 10, 2024.

He was granted a public defender, David Hearrean, and no objections were raised to the omnibus application. His trial is set for June 25, with a readiness hearing scheduled for May 27.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of a stolen 1994 Geo Prism from a residence on Hawk Creek Road.

The vehicle's owner, John Orndorff, told authorities he heard a door slam outside his trailer around 1 a.m. and saw a silver Mercedes, allegedly belonging to Skenandore-Kieffer, parked near his car. Orndorff said both vehicles left the property shortly after.

Later that morning, Orndorff discovered his 1990 Jeep Cherokee had been prowled, with a wallet and cell phone missing from the center console. The Geo Prism, which Orndorff had recently acquired and was in the process of selling to Skenandore-Kieffer, was located abandoned on State Route 25.

A handwritten note signed "Scotty Boy Kieffer" was found inside, addressed to a known associate, stating the car had broken down.

Deputies obtained a search warrant and recovered the vehicle at a residence on SR 25 near Egypt Loop Road. Investigators allege Skenandore-Kieffer stole the car before abandoning it. The phone number listed in the note was registered to Orndorff's stolen cell phone.
