Davenport Commercial Club held its clean-up day last week. Streets were raked and trash and rocks were removed. Residents were encouraged to clean up their properties as well as businesses.
Fishing season in Lincoln County opens April 15. Neighboring counties, Stevens and Ferry opened the first of April and local fisherman have been traveling to fish those counties with good catches reported.
The Odessa Union warehouse company purchased the mill property which it has rented for several years. The property consists of a large mill, warehouse and elevator. This will be one of six grain stations that the company operates.

C. S. Stapish, owner of the Davenport produce company, has purchased the Davenport Machine Shop and will move his business into the new building after some remodeling is completed.
The Davenport-Reardan Soil conservation district will seed a five mile stretch of highway just south of Davenport with a grass-legume mixture. This mixture is expected to help control weeds like cheatgrass and mustard.
The third annual Lincoln County Odessa Day was held recently. Approximately 90 4-H girls, leaders and parents attended the event. Several prizes and awards were given out by the judges.

Plans will be implemented by the Odessa Chamber of Commerce to build a smokehouse and provide a work area to prepare sausage during the annual Deutschesfest.
More than $1million has been deposited and 350 new accounts have been opened in the 2 weeks since Fidelity Mutual opened in Davenport.

Jim Walter, Walter Implement of Odessa was awarded Agribusiness of the year at the recent Lincoln County Conservation district Supervisors dinner. Fred Springer of Reardan was awarded a Public Service Award at the dinner as well.
Cindy Swain was crowned Davenport Junior Miss at last Sunday’s program. Swain will be accompanied in her role by Princesses Laura Masteller and Kristi Buchanan.

After 15 years on the bench, Lincoln County District Court Judge, Joshua Grant will be retiring at the end of June. Grant will resume his private practice in Wilbur and be available as a judge pro-tem.
The Odessa Golf Course has undergone quite a transformation since the McCullar family purchased it. New items have been added to the menu in the clubhouse and a new water feature has been added by groundskeeper Dillon Jahns.
