Donald L. (Don) Smith

Don passed away April 1, 2025 in Spokane, Wash. Don (86) was born June 6, 1938 in Odessa, Wash. to Marcus and Anna Smith. He grew up and attended school in Odessa. He married Janet Walter on Aug 23, 1954 in Davenport, Wash. They had three children; Debbie, Colby and Sidney. Don married Mavis Wolff on June 30, 1960 in Spokane, Wash. and they had two more children RoxAnn and Mark. The family moved from the farm into the town of Odessa in 1974.

Don farmed with his brothers on the Smith Brothers ranch before starting his own business "Smith Air" and was an Arial Applicator and then later became a Real Estate agent. Don was a member of the Odessa Fire Dept and Odessa EMT's, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Realtors Association, and NRA.

Don is survived by his five children; Debbie (Tom) Weishaar, Colby Smith (Mario Padilla), Sidney (Polly) Smith, RoxAnn (Ron) Sherwood and Mark (Denys) Smith along with 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife Janet in 1957, his second wife Mavis in 2020, two brothers Bill and Ben Smith and a sister Irene Marchand and an infant great grandson.

A Rosary service will be held on Friday April 11, 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Odessa, WA followed by a Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will be held at the Odessa Cemetery, Odessa, WA. Memorial donations can be made to the Odessa Fire Dept., Odessa EMT's, St. Joseph's Catholic Church or donor's choice.
