Pot products not just for fun

DAVENPORT – Feeling good with cannabis may not entirely be what some people think. While many purchase marijuana products for recreation here in Washington State, there are also a significant number who use those products for medicinal purposes.

Tyler West, General Manager and buyer for Natural Green at 51 Morgan St in Davenport, says, “What some people consider to be medicinal for themselves would be recreational for somebody else.”

West offers for example people who use products that are high in medicinal properties but relatively low in the chemicals that produce ‘recreational’ results.

Lorena Guerra, Store Manager of Toker Friendly at 1515 South Lyons Rd. in Airway Heights, talks of various conditions some customers purchase her products for. “Most of the time, I have people who love the topical lotions we sell that are high in pain relief. We also have people buying products to help them with anxiety, stress, and things like stomach inflammation and IBS.”

Tyler West of Natural Green also explains that a majority of his customers are not young people, contrary to possible public opinion. “The average age of our demographic is 45 and up. Like soccer moms, tribal members, and visitors coming down from Canada.”

Abbey Rode, a Budtender at Lucid cannabis store at 1845 1st St. in Cheney, says of her customers, “Our customers are split half-and-half between kids from EWU and local people.”

Rode adds, “A lot of people get our products to simply help them sleep.”
