Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!

High-speed fiber-optic internet goes live May 5

Broadband offered by four firms

DAVENPORT - High-speed fiber internet service will be available to city residents and businesses starting Monday, May 5, according to the Lincoln County Broadband Office.

The new network will allow internet service providers to begin connecting customers within city limits. Fiber offers faster speeds, better reliability, and stronger security compared to wireless and satellite options.

Lincoln County built the network without charging providers for infrastructure costs, helping keep prices competitive. Residents can choose from four providers: Intermax, LocalTel, North Ridge and WiFiber.

Fiber connections don't slow down during peak hours and support work-from-home requirements, such as dedicated speeds of 50 Mbps or more. Internet phone service is also available.
